Everyone wants to be free to love and be loved.
Removing barriers to love is the real meaning of meditation practice and this is the reason we call this week the “Heart” of meditation. Embodied immediacy—learning to live fully in your own body, in the present moment, no matter what the circumstances, with some peace and warmth—this is the fruit of regular meditation practice. This wise and compassionate presence is our natural state. During our week together we will have the opportunity to experiment with mindful attention through experiences in sitting and walking meditation. No formal meditation experience is required. We will also support each other in assisted practices of compassion and loving presence. Opening our hearts in the face of life’s challenges requires courage, and meditation practice helps us cultivate a wholehearted way of life.
